WINKEL invests over 4 million euros in Illingen

Extension of the large assembly hall 3

WINKEL GmbH, the world's leading manufacturer of systems for heavy-duty linear guidance and handling technology, is defying the crisis and creating new jobs in Germany.

Illingen, 1.11.2020 – The highly relevant topic of Digitisation 4.0 and a constantly increasing demand for the company's innovative, efficient products at home and abroad, have prompted Christian Winkel to send a clear signal in the direction of the future: The expansion of the large assembly hall 3 from 4,800 sqm to 7,300 sqm (start in October 2020), the completion of which is already planned for spring 2021. This is where the WINKEL-specific FAST-PICK systems for intralogistics will be completely manufactured, tested and assembled.

In addition, this expansion of the total production area of the plant to 15,000 square metres will provide more space. Sufficient space for the machining centres for milling machines with a machining length of up to 13 m in the X axis.

"This will enable us to ensure the accustomed just-in-time delivery of individual, ready-to-install heavy-duty guides to our customers from industry and SMEs, even if demand continues to rise," continues Christian Winkel, "and it goes without saying that our philosophy of customer care - from consulting and development to installation on site and comprehensive service for the maintenance of the systems - will grow with it.
