Dünnschicht-Verchromung ist eine extrem
harte, dichte, haftfeste, sehr dünne und hochreine Chrom-
beschichtung, die auf allen Metallen (außer Magnesium und
Titan) abgeschiedenwerden kann.

molekularer Natur. EinAbheben der Schicht zumGrundmate-
rial ist nahezu unmöglich.
Tribologie / geringe Reibungskoeffizienten
Die besondere Kugelstruktur der Duralloy
®
-Oberfläche
ermöglicht die Bildung von Schmierstoff-Taschen und schafft
somit einÖlreservoir für extremeBedingungenwie z.B.Mangel-
schmierung.
Außerdem trägt die Kugelstruktur dazu bei, den Reib-
koeffizienten deutlich herabzusetzen.

material dauerhaft gegen chemische und mechanische

The Duralloy
®
-coating is an extremly hard, precise, very thin
andultrapuremetallic chromium layer, which is characterized
by an excellent adhesive. The plating can be deposited on all
types of metals, except Magnesium and Titanium.
Due to the low process temperature of under 60 °C no chan-
ges to the structureof thebasematerial occur duringplating,
this essiential advantage of the process ensures shape and
hardness stability for anymanufactures components.

Hardness/Wear protection
The Duralloy
®
surface consist of at least 99% pure chrome.
The plating hardness is approximatly 1200 HV and the over-
run load under EHD-conditions reaches around 2.800Mpa.
Adherence
The bonding from the Duralloy
®
surface on the substrate is
frommolecular nature. It isnearly impossible that thecoating
peels away from the groundmaterial.
Tribology/low friction coefficient
The special structureof theDURALLOY
®
surface forms acon-
verging gap geometry and enables the creation of pockets of
lubricant. The lubricant pockets also form an oil reservoir for
extreme conditions as for example where there is starved
lubrication.
Furthermore the special structure contributes the reduction
of the friction coefficient considerable.
Protection against corrosion
The special structure of Duralloy
®
protects the groundmate-
rial against chemical andmechanical corrosion. Compared to
conventional hard chrome coatings the Duralloy coating is
free of cracks.
